Hello, my name is Brandy. I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) at Connections Family Counseling, whom specializes in working with youth and their families.
Is your child or preteen struggling in school, at home, or socially? Maybe they seem sad, withdrawn, anxious, angry, or distracted? Do they struggle with issues tied to self-esteem? Are they struggling to cope with parent’s divorce, a significant loss, or some other trauma? Do their comments about themselves, others, or the world around them seem more negative? Has their behavior or functioning changed so much that it is contributing to disruptions within the family unit? As a parent or care-giver, are you at a loss as to how to help the child?
Difficulties and issues in childhood can be so numbered and challenging that it ends up impacting the entire family unit. Parents or caregivers can quickly become overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure about what to do to make things better. Many times, the family unit has become so strained that there are serious doubts as to whether anything will help everyone feel connected again. But there is hope – change in one family member’s behavior or functioning, with the right help, can contribute to significant changes in the functioning of others.
I empower children, adults, and families to work-through issues that are impacting their functioning through the use of various evidenced-based interventions. Through an approach that is supportive, collaborative, & interactive, I help parents build resilient kids and a connected family. Together, we will identify and address potential barriers to the change process, establish personalized treatment goals, & then work collaboratively to meet each goal established. Throughout treatment, I aim to create and maintain a safe, relaxed, and playful environment for both children and their families. I encourage everyone to freely and openly express themselves, while building upon identified strengths. If you want to help your child or preteen regain their sense of joy, confidence, and/or power please give me a call to see if I’ll be a good fit for your family.
