Hello, My name is Mark Vander Ley I am a marriage counselor in Quincy, IL. Thank you for taking the time to consider how I can serve your family.
I started Connections Family Counseling, LLC in February 2017 after many years of dreaming, praying, and hoping that someday I would have the chance to start a private practice. The opportunity arrived when I left my full time job to finish my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. While serving as an adjunct faculty in a Master’s level counseling program and working on my dissertation I began the process of opening a practice. I have since focused my practice on serving distressed marriages and adolescent males struggling with anger, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational difficulties.
I seek to create engaging, playful, and meaningful counseling experiences that lead to increased wellness and personal development.
I completed my Masters of Counseling, Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy in 2006 and I graduated with my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision in May of 2018. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and The Illinois Counseling Association (ICA).
In my free time I enjoy reading, running, sports, and spending time with family outdoors.
